Parking was paid for or a valid ticket was displayedYou paid or displayed a ticket but still received a charge. Notice arrived after the 14-day limitThe first notice came too late to transfer liability. Parking signs were unclear or missingThe terms were not clear, visible or easy to understand. I didn’t do anything wrongThe ticket has been issued incorrectly — I didn’t break any parking rules. Signs or road markings were unclearSigns were missing, obscured, or confusing, so the restriction wasn’t clear. I had a valid ticket or permitI had already paid or had permission to park at the time of the ticket. A registration number mistake was made when payingA registration number was entered incorrectly in the payment app or machine, but payment was still made. Payment machine or app issueThe equipment provided by the council wasn’t working when I tried to pay. I wasn’t given a 10-minute grace periodIn some cases, a council PCN should not be issued if you only overstayed by up to 10 minutes.

The notice arrived too late or the rules weren’t followedThe notice arrived more than 28 days after the parking event, or the council may not have followed the proper legal process.
